Our Story

Built from behind
the bench.
Designed for everyone
on it.

For years, the search for a tool to functionally manage the logistics of youth sports kept coming up empty. Every season, the same apps. Always waiting for a better solution. Or for someone to pay attention to what's missing, not just what's broken.

Behind the bench — where nomos was conceived

It started with a lineup.

Communicating lineups with the coaching staff before a game. An easy dialog. Feedback. Adjustments. No one was on the same schedule. Never the same format twice. The solution was a simple lineup sharing app. It worked, but sat unused, never even tested. It was obsolete before it ever saw a user.

What if it could? What if it was? Every challenge faced personally. Every frustration remembered. Every conversation in every rink.

"In all of the rinks I've ever been in. From all of the roles I've ever been in. Something was always missing. I knew it, we all know it. I just couldn't see it."

Coaches exist for their players. Everything else is infrastructure.

Same problems. Bolted-on solutions. Every season.

Coaches, orgs, and parents juggle scheduling apps, group texts, spreadsheets, Venmo chains, and email threads. Parents miss game times. Players fall through cracks. Organizations have no visibility into any of it.

The tools that exist were built for one job. Registration. Scores. Video. Payments. None of them were built for the whole ecosystem.

"Teamworks built the operating system for professional sports at a $1.3 billion valuation. Nobody built it for the other 57 million. That's what nomos is."

Three roots

The educator who never let a kid fall through the cracks.

Tim's mother was a para-educator. She dedicated her life to making sure no child was invisible. Lymphoma forced her out of the classroom before she was ready to leave, a battle that would eventually take her life. Her initials — E.M.W. — are permanent in the platform. Every Moment Witnessed. The parent highlight reel. Every goal, every milestone, every evaluation. The things she would have wanted to see.

The Intelligence Layer
PARA — named for those who walk alongside.
The AI core inside nomos is called PARA — from para-educators, and from the Greek word meaning "alongside." It does not lead from the front. It scaffolds from beside. The same way a para-educator builds structure around a student without doing the work for them, PARA builds structure around every stakeholder in the platform without replacing human judgment.
Protect
Disengagement alerts. Dropout pathways. The kids who go quiet before they go missing.
Advise
Context-aware coaching prompts. Academic nudges. The right information at the right moment.
Respond
Dynamic to change. Adapts as sentiment, tempo, and team energy shift in real time.
Advance
Every dropout prevention pathway, every evaluation, every milestone traces back to her work.

The designer who meets people where they are.

Tim's wife holds a Master's in Instructional Design with an ESL focus. Instructional design is the science of meeting learners where they are, not where you want them to be. ESL adds another layer: designing for people who don't yet speak your language.

That principle runs through every pixel of nomos. The onboarding flow that gets a parent to value in under 90 seconds. The evaluation system that walks coaches through one category at a time. The age-appropriate depth that gives 8U teams five fun categories instead of twenty technical ones. None of that is UX guesswork. That is instructional design.

It also shapes how the platform speaks. nomos uses channeled communication — the same information addressed differently depending on who is receiving it. A coach sees development language. A parent sees milestone language. A player sees identity language. Same platform. Same moment. Twelve different conversations, each one calibrated to the person it's reaching.

The DJ who reads the room.

Fifteen years as a DJ — battle-style mixing, open-format sets, reading a crowd of strangers and knowing within eight bars whether you're losing them. That career became the nervous system of nomos.

For Tim, ADHD means the pattern recognition never stops. Synesthesia means sound has always moved as geometry — interconnected, kinetic, spatial. Not quirks. Not footnotes. Together they are the natural order of how the world has always arrived: in signals, in connections, in the moment the energy starts to drop before anyone else in the room notices it.

The STEMS diagnostic architecture is music language made literal. In audio production, stems are isolated tracks — vocals, drums, bass, melody. Isolated, each one is incomplete. Combined, they become a unified mix. In nomos, S.T.E.M.S. measures Sentiment, Tempo, Engagement, Momentum, and Synergy across every stakeholder. Sync them, and the noise becomes signal.

The platform

One prototype. One alpha. A pipeline already forming.

nomos is pre-launch and hockey-first by design. The pilot team is the coach's own. One functional prototype in active alpha testing this spring. Two teams committed for beta. One organization positioned for adoption pending beta execution.

Behind that: 21 modules specced across 8 development phases, 70+ specification files, and a complete engineering architecture. This is not a concept deck. It is a product with a roadmap, a methodology, skin in the game, and a market strategy built on 20 years of B2B sales experience.
